There’s a new way to experience one of Wisconsin’s beloved, long-time dining traditions. And while it may usually be all about the relish tray and salad bar — it now includes enjoying a slice of prime rib – one supper club at a time.

This is the first-time culinary journey called the “Prime Rib Trail.” Some of the state’s best and oldest restaurants are on the map thanks to this signature dish.

Listen to this “Slice of Wisconsin: The Prime Rib Trail” here:

The trail features 16 supper clubs. A few are more than 100 years old, and many are still family owned. Locations range from Pine Creek Pit Stop in Ashland to The Loading Zone Eatery in Wausau and The Packing House in Milwaukee.

“It’s bragging rights, for sure,” Kesler explains. “We are hearing from folks who just love their supper clubs and that tradition with their families.”

Kesler also believes it’s about more than just the food. She describes it as a special feeling.

“When you walk into a supper club, you’re greeted with a smile, you grab an old fashioned at the bar, and you smell that prime rib roasting for hours,” she says. “And even if you’re not a local, you’re treated like one. It’s pure Wisconsin hospitality.”

The “Prime Rib Trail” is also shining a light on the farm families who make many of these meals possible. It’s celebrating the care and quality behind every cut of beef being served at these classic establishments.

Find your own stops along the trail.

Then get ready to savor a tasty “Slice of Wisconsin” — one supper club at a time.
